TOTALLY SERVICED        .      Completely cleaned interior /  exterior •       Checked and cleaned  all knobs/switchs, function, and VU meters  •       Cleaned and lubricated all switches with De-Ox-It. •       Adjusted and aligned Volume section for play/record. •       Polished faceplate  and all knobs. •       Adjusted and demagnetized all heads. .       Checked  input/output.   When we works on a tape deck, for instance, we does not simply test it in all modes for several minutes to make certain it works. WE  ACTUALLY USES THE MACHINE FOR A MANY DAYS, playing and recording many hours of tape, and actually uses the tape machines to record  from AM/FM, CD or cassette to reel to reel tape, and if any glitches or abnormalities appear during this process they are addressed and corrected and the use of the machine continues until our  technician is abolutely certain that the machine is ready to be sold and will not deliver any unwanted surprises to its new owner. We will not release a machine for sale until he is absolutely certain it will perform flawlessly on a consistent day-to-day basis after it is shipped We tested this AKAI  = FANTASTIC !!!!Has a wonderful and pure SOUND !!!! EXCELLENT WORKING CONDITION AND PRETTY APPEARANCE INSIGNIFICANT  SCRATCHES   IN THE FACEPLATE  !!!!!  Wood cabinet in  EXCELLENT condition.  This is strickly a deck. It does not have speakers. You must connect it to a stereo receiver or an amplifier. This machine records and plays back with excellent fidelity and frequency response. The Tape Recorder is looking great  even if it has more than 25 years and it works perfectly! The faceplate looks great! All the mechanical and electronic operations and everything works splendidly including the VU meter illumination.   Play, Reverse,  Record, Fast Forward & Rewind functions run smooth and noiseless.        GX-230/D (ca. 1975-1976) The GX-230/D is a  4-head sets; they look very much alike and they both have a lot of printed circuit boards (PCB's) in common. The GX-230/D is a little older set and is an electro mechanical set with mechanical push buttons. The pinch roller is activated by a solenoid. The brakes are activated mechanically at FF and REW and by the same solenoid at PLAY/REC. Because of its attractive price the GX-230D sold well. Probably this has been the first set with an additional playback head instead of a single head in combination with a solenoid which pulls it down. The GX-230/D  do have the combination erase/rec head instead of two separated heads.The S.R.T. switch has been replaced by a low noise/wide range tape selector switch.   SERIAL NUMBER :  20607-00506   We will carefully pack this item and ship insured.
