Description
My Safety Disclaimer: There has been a lot of fraudulent activity on ebay lately with fake listings for expensive audio gear. Please note that I will not be contacting you directly for an off ebay purchase. Please do not trust any unsolicited message from someone pretending to be me. Do not trust a second chance offer unless it is registered in your ebay account records, even then, email me through the ebay system to make sure it is real. Also, I am writing some guidelines to help keep ebay purchases safe for everyone. · Do not trust any auction where the buy it now price is too good to be true. · Do not trust any auction where the seller lists their email directly in the text and asks you to contact him directly instead of through ebay's "ask the seller" link. · Do not trust an auction where the bidders list is private. They do this so naive bidders can't be warned to be careful. · Do not trust any auction for a high ticket item originating from outside of the US. Electronics are more expensive overseas, so there is no honest reason why the item would be cheaper if purchased overseas. · Do not trust any auction where they offer to ship very heavy items for free. The only reason it is free is because nothing ever gets sent. · Do not trust any auction where you have to pay by bank transfer. · Do not trust any unsolicited message asking you to buy the speakers directly or saying that the auction will be closed early at your current high bid. · Never send a cashier's check or money order unless the seller is willing to provide their full contact info, including a phone number. · Go to whitepages.com or yahoo people search and verify that their contact info is legit and registered in some kind of third party directory. · Talk to sellers on the phone and make sure they don't sound sketchy. · If you win an auction and you are still unsure about trusting the guy, ask him to take an additional photo of the item form a different perspective or with a unique item (baseball hat, banana, whatever). This is a way to confirm that the seller actually has the item that was advertised. · Ask if you can pick the item up locally, see what they say. Please note that I adhere to all of my guidelines. I will give you my full contact info if you win and I am willing to talk to you on the phone and provide the information that you need to have confidence in your purchase. Hifi audio is my hobby and I want this to be something safe that we can all enjoy. Now about the listing: These are being relisted since the buyer decided to take my 802s instead. They are the same exact speakers that were listed a couple months back that have never left the house. This listing is for a pair of B&W 803D in light cherry with consecutive serial numbers for gorgeous perfectly matched cabinets. One of their best, the B&W 803D gives breath-taking highs (Diamond tweeters) with a lush, fluid midrange (FST Kevlar drivers) and clean, tight bass (three Rohacell drivers). They are less than two years old and have seen only light use as they are in a secondary system. As you can see in these actual photos, the condition is excellent. I can't see any defects at all but they are used so please don't expect perfection. I show close ups from all angles so there is no chance the buyer will be disappointed. The drivers look like new. Check my feedback and buy with confidence. Of course, all speakers perform flawlessly. I have the original boxes, manuals and biwire jumpers. I would prefer a local pick up in St. Louis but have original boxes and can ship safely. There is no charge for pick assuming you pay in certified funds at the time of the exchange. I will offer a $200 discount on shipping charges if you pay by bank check.
