CABINET' Description For you classic audio fans (like me) we have an extremely nice Fisher 500-C FM receiver.  I purchased this in '95 from the original owner, I believe.  Since then I've probably only used it about 15 hours.  A couple of weeks ago I brought it up slowly with a Variac and it sounds great.  Then I checked all the tubes, which are original Fishers, and replaced some of them with more good used Fisher tubes.  Now all of them check 100% or better.  I've been playing it a few hours a day for the past week or so. All circuits work, I listened to FM and also ran a CD player and a turntable through the proper inputs.  It is approximately 35 watts/channel with the 7591A output tubes and the excellent transformers.  I hooked up the tape outputs to a two-channel audio scope, and the mpx circuitry is working great.  Serial number is 67685V.  This would make a nice addition to almost anyone's collection, or it would be an excellent basis for a home stereo setup.  All the brass knob caps are there, and all the lettering is in good shape.  The original box is included, as well as a mint Fisher walnut cabinet.  The owner wasn't using the cabinet when I bought it, so it is practically unused.  As with any unit that is 40+ years old, a professional alignment would probably be advisable for the best FM performance.  But it sounds fine as it is.  I'm clearing out some of my collection, so this is a good opportunity for someone.  Due to the age, it is sold as is.  Guaranteed not to be DOA, however.  Unit will be double-boxed and insured.
