1957 Scott 121-C Dynaural Equalizer-PreamplifierThe Scott 121C is the BEST vintage tube preamp for playing 78 rpm records. It has the most flexibility and features of any of the preamps from that era. You can also use it as a line preamp for tuners, tapes, CD, MP3, etc. Beautiful classic Gold anodized faceplate and rear panel in excellent shape. Very stylish unit with solid metal knobs that are gold anodized.Controls include: variable turnover, variable rolloff, Dynaural control, pickup 1 or 2, rumble suppressor, amp/tape monitor, loudness, bass, treble, loudness, 8-position input control, frequency range. In addition there are five input level controls on the back, plus preamp level and pickup load. This is considered by most record collectors to be the very best vintage tube preamp due to its excellent sound and versatility.If you want the very best vintage mono tube preamp for 78s, this is the one.This example is in excellent condition with all lettering present. No scratches or other defects. Has a label on the back that indicates it belonged to the San Fransisco Conservatory of Music.Working, but unrestored. Mostly NOS USA Tubes: two 12AX7s, three 12AU7s, one 6AU6 and one 6X4. Super nice collectable condition.NOTE: Transformer good, power up, makes music, but should be recapped and serviced by a competent tube technician.Will ship to all locations except China and Malaysia. It makes music, but the volume is low. I suspect the it should have the electrolytic power supply can capacitors and some of the Sprague Bumble Bee paper in foil caps replaced. All tubes check like new or are NOS. All voltages check out and the unit is completely stock and unmodified. This unit WILL NEED SERVICE by a competent tube tech for optimum performance.
