Description
The HI TECH 250BYSMC meets the need to have high productivity and flexibility of two operations in one setup on one machine. This contract job shop lathe has multi-function and processing capability. Simultaneous operations of X, Y, Z, and C axis control motion to do even the most complex of machining operations. The HI TECH 250BYSMC series is designed for heavy and interrupted cutting. Capable of holding high accuracies and superior surface finishes, the 250 gets high productivity, reliability, and accuracy in a wide range of applications. The HI TECH 250BYSMC, with a large 3.15-inch plus/minus Y-axis movement, allows for milling of simple or complex applications without having to move the part to a second machine. Excellent torque on milling spindles provides ample capacity. To insure that the base machine has the best possible foundation, the bed material is high quality, meehanite process cast iron, which has superior shock absorbing characteristics to withstand the forces of heavy-duty machining. The bed is a 60-degree slant that features a torque tube bed construction with special ribbing to prevent bending and twisting. In order to eliminate thermal distortion of the machine caused by the hot chips heating the bed casting, the chip and coolant pan is a separate unit. The precision-ground spindle is supported by a rigid headstock with grease-sealed, double-row cylindrical bearings, and angular-contact bearings at the front and double-row cylindrical bearings at the rear thus keeping heat generation to a minimum. Spindle power is provided by a brushless, variable-speed AC motor, which is both energy efficient and maintenance free. A direct drive spindle design in which the spindle is integral to the motor eliminates the need for belts and thus no possible vibration for a perfect finish possibility. Upper turrets have 12 position ID or OD or milling in any position. There is 12 position ID or OD is on the lower turret. The servo versatile drum-type turrets are hydraulically clamped, permitting heavy-duty cutting. The extremely quick indexing speed and bi-directional tool selection, by the shortest path, minimizes non-cutting time. Including the fast rapid traverse rates of both axes, the HI TECH 250BYSMC series is one of the most productive turning centers on the market today.
