These 3 way Splitters are a little different than your average 3 way splitter. They have unbalanced output. You have one input for cable and three outputs. Two of these outputs have a 7 dB loss and the third leg has a 3.5 dB loss. This means that if you have a TV with a DVR, modem or a high def box you would want to put the leg with the 3.5 dB loss off that. That would give you a better signal for that piece of equiptment.
