Description
2 - Madison M3-215 1 - Audiopipe APA5500 These are serious venue quality speakers. They are NOT wedding speakers. They are loud, versatile and extremely powerful. If you are looking at these speakers seriously, I know what your thinking... "Will they hold up night after night without problems and do they sound as good as some of the other top names and models in the business"? Yes they do. I'm not going to tell you they are a $4000 EAW speaker but yeah, they are close. They have a nice crisp top end, tight midrange and bottom end is very pleasant. Not one frequency is over the top though so they are pretty accurate. They handle every bit of the power they are rated at . They do NOT use internal fuses so you won't have any hassles there. The crossover networks are quite elaborate and are built for very high power. Of course they have all the standard professional features: Birch construction, heavy bracing, bi-amp able, rigging hardware, 2" titanium horns and drivers with cast baskets, 100oz. magnets and 4" copper clad aluminum voice coils. I will stake my reputation on these speakers in your venue, your not gonna beat these for the money, no way, no how. The amp.... alot of people ask me how these compare to other name brands. I have listed the specs and details on everything below. Speakers The M3 proprietary design utilizes a 3 way idea. By incorporating dual 6.5" mids crossed at the proper frequency, the Titanium horn driver has less pressure on it. This allows it to handle more power and sound more pleasing or ambient. My utilizing mids, the boxy top end frequencies are rolled off of the woofers for a much more natural accurate response. The concept of the M series speakers is geared for high power, abusive applications such as large concert venues. However, there has been NO sacrifice in sound quality to achieve that performance level. So even being used as small venue speakers, at close range you'll experience linear response from top to bottom. The M3 speakers are loaded with professional grade drivers. Featuring a woofer with a 4” copper clad aluminum voice coil, 100oz. magnet and a cast aluminum basket, dual 6.5" mids and a titanium horn driver that has a 2” diaphragm and 30oz. magnet with a 1” throat on an 8.5” x 16” smooth frequency, wide throw, bolt on style horn lens. These drivers are matched with a 12/18db per octave high power crossover that utilizes dual glass bulb tweeter protection. Mylar capacitors and high power chokes are used for minimal high power saturation. The design of the M series speakers is such that all frequencies are prevalent without coloring. This allows the user to be able to EQ his/her desired sound. As the saying goes, you can always EQ out what you don't want but you can never add what doesn't exist. Contrary to popular understanding, there is a lot more involved and major differences in PA speakers from one line to the next. First of all, ALL professional grade speakers use hardwood for the construction like the Madison M series speakers which are made out of 3/4” 13ply Birch and are braced on every panel internally for maximum strength. Hardwood is much stronger and half the weight of Particle board or MDF, both of which are simply low budget materials. Spec for spec is always a good way to match one cabinet to another when considering your options. However, looking at the parts and features that make up those specs is even more important. Voice coil size and type, tweeter size and type and crossover design are very important in choosing the speaker that is right for you. 3 way design Bi-Amp able Fly Hardware 13 ply Birch construction 2" Titanium Driver 6.5" Mids Dual Cast basket, 4" VC, 15" woofers 18 gauge full face grill Steel hardware Rubber feet Jack plate with dual ¼” locking, air sealed connectors and dual speakon connectors are wired in parallel so you can daisy chain to other speakers Specifications Handling: 1000 watts Peak Power Handling: 2000 watts Ohms: 4 Frequency Response: 30 - 20,000hz Variable Sensitivity: 100dB Woofer:Executioner 15 with 100oz. magnet, cast aluminum basket and 4" copper clad aluminum voice coil Midrange:Dual Archer 6.5" Closed back Mids with 20oz. magnet and 1.5" Kapton voice coil Tweeter:PHD-012T, Titanium with 2" diaphragm and coil, 30oz magnet Horn: 8.5" x 16" Bolt on Crossover: 12/18db per octave 3 way 1500hz & 4000hz slope, Mylar capacitors, high power chokes. 2nd crossover dedicated to separate highs and lows at a 1500hz slope for highs and woofer at full range Construction: 13ply 3/4" Birch through out.
