The SD2100 is practically legendary in its ability to locate gold, and deeply buried gold at that! Let me tell you, this is an awesome machine! I bought this detector used a little over a year ago. The appearance hasn't really changed since I've owned it.   You'll find theres no doubt that its been used. Don't expect a shiny new detector! It has quite a few scratches on it, but hasn't been abused. Even so, I would say it still functions as well as it ever did. Its an awesome detector! I also own a GoldBug II, which by the way is an outstanding machine as well. However, after I've spent a day swinging this Minelab, going back to the GoldBug feels like I'm wasting my time. It not only picks up targets at a much greater distance away than the GoldBug, it picks up targets that the other one can't even hear. My favorite coil to use with the SD2100 is the Minelab 18 inch mono (included).   Don't let the size fool you! This coil not only goes deep, it'll sound off loudly even on a small bird-shot sized target. The thing that'll fool you most is that you'll expect a much larger target from the signal thats produced. Since I've owned this detector I've also added some nice accessories to the kit. It now has the aftermarket "heavy duty" power cord. I would describe it as at least twice as thick as the stock version. Very sturdy! If you decide to take over this outfit you'll also get the Koss foldable headphones which I purchased especially for this detector.   Just these two accessories alone cost me $100 new. I also bought a huge 20 x 40 Coiltek coil which is included in this deal. This was $800 new and really has not been used very much. This huge coil isn't designed to mount on the supplied stem. Use your imagination! Either get or build a push cart like the one from the manufacturer or mount it on a drag. Also, I wanted to mention that the rechargeable 6 volt battery is less than 6 months old.    WHAT CAN YOU FIND WITH THIS DETECTOR?  I've found a little bit of everything with this detector - From old relics and gold nuggets, to both iron and stony type meteorites.
