Mint Kenwood R5000 Receiver - 100 KHz to 174 MHz Start Price USD 0.99 Current Price USD 520.00 Time Left - Bid Count 23 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, September 01, 2008 End Time Saturday, September 06, 2008 Location Atlanta, Georgia See more about 'Mint Kenwood R5000 Receiver - 100 KHz to 174 MHz' Description You are bidding on a mint condition Kenwood R5000 general communications receiver.  This receiver can be used to listen in on shortwave broadcasts, commercial AM and FM radio, weather broadcasts, Ham Radio, police and fire in the VHF band, and even the Aviation band.  The receiver covers from 100 KhZ to 30 MHz and from 108 to 174 MHz.  It will receive AM, Upper Sideband, Lower Sideband, CW, FSK and FM.  It uses a double conversion superheterodyne design on all modes except FM where it employs triple conversion superheterodyne.  The receiver has variable IF shift, and a notch filter with more than 25 DB attenuation to get rid of interfeerence.  It has an internal speaker, but also has an output for an 8 ohm external speaker.  The receiver has a front-panel headphone output jack, and a line output jack for feeding to a tape recorder.  The receiver includes two clocks which can be set to turn the receiver on or off.  The receiver includes two noise blankers which may be individually selected.  The first filters out pulse-type noise, the second filters out longer duration pulse noise. Tuning is accomplished using either the tuning dial, or the UP/DOWN buttons.  The rate of the tuning dial can be changed with the STEP button.  The receiver can be powered from 120 VAC, or 13.8 VDC.  It has three antenna input connectors - one is for a 50 ohm antenna, the second is for either a 50 ohm antenna or a 500 ohm VHF antenna.
