I already own another MX-3000, which is in constant use. This is the coolest and best remote control I’ve ever used. If you happen to own a DVD Changer, there is incredibly cool software available called DMX-3000 from triplebsoftware for $99 that enables control of hundreds of DVD’s with each DVD having its icon displayed on the color touch screen. If you are in the market for an MX-3000, beware of a dirty little secret. A couple years ago, Universal Remote Control quietly upgraded both the memory capacity and charger stand of the MX-3000 without changing the model number! Not only that, but the brightness of the MX-3000 display varies by batch, with even some of the updated later models providing less brightness than earlier batches. The one I am selling here features a). the higher memory capacity, b). the re-designed charger and C). the brighter screen. I actually had to return two other MX-3000’s to end up with this one. I have owned several MX-3000’s since 2004. The first one was the original iteration with lower memory capacity. The second one suffered from a malfunction of the programming cable. I have an elaborate home theater and I love this remote. After problems with my first 2 MX-3000’s I wanted to be sure I always had a back up, that is why I purchased this MX-3000 for sale here. This week, I removed it from the box, powered it up and photographed it with both the stock template and then again with one of the professionally designed templates that I am selling with it. This MX-3000, purchased in 2005 and sitting in the box since then, is from the same batch version as the MX-3000 that has worked flawlessly for me for over 2 years.
