Where to use SVM? Conference Centers, Shopping Malls, Exhibition Halls, Schools, Lecture Theatres, TV & Radio Studio, Party Room, Outdoor Advertising Displays, Churches, Concerts, Wedding Hall, etc. Why would you choose SMS Voting with SVM anyway? There are many advantages on voting using mobile phones than using computers & papers. E.g. the problem many events face with traditional paper votes or Internet votes includes multiple entries made under different names for the same contestant. This can be unfair to the contestants, and votes are subject to cheating like this. And with paper methods you're also faced with the labor-intensive vote counting and the process is prone to human errors. SMS Vote Manager (SVM) automates the entire voting process by having the audience vote using their mobile phones. Today most teenagers and adults have access to mobile phones so this is the right time to leverage on text messages. SVM can prevent duplicate votes if needed and it is highly customizable for different occasions. More importantly, SVM does not need you to subscribe & pay hosting company. SVM does not require internet connection to operate, so you can set up in (virtually )anywhere which is under mobile network coverage. As far as I know, there is no similar product on the market that offers you SVM's portability and features. (Don't be surprised if you cannot find SVM or a similar product on the Internet). Other SVM Benefits and Features No form-filling, no manual calculations or compilations of results Audience can vote from his seat, or anywhere literally Real time, visual presentation of the actual results that everyone can see Capture audience mobile phone numbers for future contact Under the bonnet, SVM is a lot more powerful than it seems, with some of the features described below: World-wide compatibility: Because it is compatible with most GSM 900/1800 network, it can be used in (literally) most countries using a local SIM card Up to 30 options/choices can be defined for voters to choose from Results are live and are presented in colourful bar chart format Accept one vote or multiple votes from the same mobile phone Customisable background graphics and overlaying images Up to 2 external displays are supported (e.g. one screen showing the vote results and another screen showing voting instructions or sponsors information, etc) Edit on-screen text & titles on the fly User-defined acceptable keyword list for each voting option Progressive chart-scaling for nicer bar chart display over a certain time frame SMS received are stored in Excel format for easy tracking and analysis Easy archiving of events Because SVM is highly customisable, you can brand the background images with sponsors' logos or images, providing an ideal spot for making good profits out of advertising and sponsorships. The bundle will be packed well for shipping locally and to overseas. Email support is included. As with most other software, purchaser will agree on the Terms and Conditions/Disclaimer that come with SVM. Thanks for watching and good luck shall you decide to bid! Any question feel free to contact seller. The system is ready for SMS Voting - all you need to supply is a SIM card. In case you are curious... SVM is a 2-year-long research which took lots of sweats and bloods to complete (until recently), and this "world-first" SVM bundle is a developer machine for internal demo only, and was not used outside the premise or shown to the public. I was about to promote SVM but due to my new commitments for the next 12 months I decide to decide to put it on ebay. This package is an excellent choice for those who is looking for an easy-to-use SMS Voting system or an event organiser who is looking for new revenue streams. If you are not bored yet.... Here are some FAQ snack: Q. What phone number will I use for voting? A. The mobile number associated with the SIM card that was fitted into the GSM module will be the phone number used for voting. E.g. If you insert a SIM card with mobile number 0412345678, this will be the number the audience will send their votes to. Q. What SIM cards can I use? A. Pretty much any pre-paid or post-paid GSM phone card would be fine. However, 3G, CDMA and other non-GSM network SIM will not be compatible. Q. How much does it cost me to run SVM? A. SVM is licensed to the end user on one PC, there is no additional cost or royalty fees for running SVM unless you plan to install SVM on another machine(s). Q. How do I give instruction to people for voting? A. You can type instructions directly on the text regions on SVM main screens, or you can create background image(s) which contains all necessary instructions. Q. Can I prevent people from making duplicated votes? A. Yes you can do this when configuring SVM. Q. Can I archive and track the records for a particular voting session? A. Yes records are kept in files that can be read by Microsoft Excel or text editors. It is also easy to archive SMS records, configuration settings and custom background images etc for future review. Q. How much do these SMS cost to the voters? A. Voters pay normal SMS charge (if any) applicable to their mobile service plan and nothing more.Q. Do I have to use SIM card from certain mobile networks? A. No, the Nokia PCMCIA cardphone is unlocked so all compatible mobile network can be used.Q. How much does it cost me to receive SMS votes with SVM? A. Same cost as what you normally pay for when receiving SMS on your mobile phone, which is commonly known as zero, I don't know any exception to this at the moment, but again different telco in different countries may have different service plans. Q. Can the visual results be displayed at other geographical locations simultaneously? A. Not yet, it will be available on future release. However, it is easy to achieve the same result with third party remote desktop monitoring tools such as VNC. Q. Can I charge a fee for people who send text messages to vote? A. No, to do so you will need to negotiate with your own telco for business arrangement. Availability of such feature varies among telcos and countries and cost may apply.. Q. How do I make money with SVM? A. Well, there can be many creative ways to generate revenues from SVM if you are in the know, right now what I can think of are voting service setup & rental, sponsor contributions. Q. Can I use short code (e.g. 133233) as voting number instead of a normal mobile number? A. You will need to negotiate with your own telco for switch-level routing of dedicated numbers or if they can tailor a special SIM for you. Availability of such feature varies among telcos and countries and cost may apply.. Q. How many options can I provide voters to choose from? A. The maximum number of options is 30. The width of the charts are automatically adjusted to the number of options configured. Q. How are the vote results displayed on screen? A. The results are presented as color bar charts. You can choose to display Percentage, Absolute Number or nothing along with each option. Q. What is this dual screen option about? A. SVM supports dual screen mode by default, so you can have one screen as a “normal” vote result screen while displaying a background graphic on another screen. This can be useful if you wish to display detailed instructions or sponsor’s information on a screen of their own. To use this dual screen feature your PC will need to connect to two video displays and is running on Windows Extended Desktop mode. Q. Can voters compose SMS with words other than (or in addition to) option number? A. Yes you can set up a list of keywords for each option, e.g. Option #1 can be set to accept votes containing any of these keywords: 1, John, John.W, Johnny Wither Q. Can it be integrated with my own Web applications? A. Yes, please contact us for more details. Charge may apply. Q. Can I send outbound text messages using the system? A. No. SVM does not send out replies or bulk SMS. It is not necessary or recommended in most scenarios anyway. Q. I need other features for my own application. Can I request these features? A. Yes, please contact us for more details. Charge may apply. Q. How does lucky draw work? A. At anytime you can draw a random (lucky) voter (winner) from the pool – if you have prize(s) to give away. The drawn mobile number will be shown on screen with the first few digits masked (for protecting privacy). When the winner is called upon, the host can verify his authenticity by asking him to give a couple of digits masked on screen. The host can then “unmask” the digits to confirm he is the actual winner. Q.How do I start and stop accepting votes and can these actions be scheduled? A. Not directly, but it is easy to achieve this with third party utilities. SVM can be set to start accepting votes when it starts, and voting will stop when program quits. Otherwise SVM is started and stopped manually. Once stopped, voting can be resumed only if SVM has not been closed during the same session. Q. What do you mean by Progressive Scaling (P.S.)? A. Without P.S., the vote results (bar charts) are always "normalized" so the option with highest vote always shoot to the top edge of the rectangle that confines the result (440 pixels high approx), and visually this is not very exciting as the charts do not seem to progress much even there are new votes coming in. With P.S. the charts will start at low level and will progressively scaled to full range over a certain time frame even votes increment is slow. This feature can be disabled or overridden by manually scaled up or down the charts.
