The FM Transmitter in these original Inno 1 models was very powerful. The FCC forced XM to send a firmware patch to reduce the strength of the transmitter. It is free to update the firmware. This firmware update weakens the transmitting power of the INNO1 radio, so the car dock, and other accessories are required in later Inno firmware. Innos sold (or updated) with later firmware can not go back to version 1.05 which is why this is so hard to find. This Inno still has the original super powerful FM transmitter firmware installed on it! Of course, you can update the firmware for free at any time. If you know anything about the INNO radios, you know this rare version can't be found anymore. The Pioneer Inno (model GEX-INNO1) combines two fabulous technologies: satellite radio and MP3. Unlike other portable satellite radios that can only receive satellite signals while the player is "docked" at home or in the car, the Inno receives the XM Satellite Radio signal wherever you go. It also has 1GB of memory (up to 50 hours of satellite content), so in places where you can't receive the satellite signal, the Inno can play back hours of stored XM programming. That 1GB of memory can also hold your own MP3 and WMA files. You can save any XM content to memory, or schedule multiple shows to be recorded for later playback.
