Description
Sansui TU-7900 **** BUY IT NOW PRICE REDUCED *** I can do a buy it now for $175 (I paid $235 for a TASCAM TU-690 and traded the TASCAM for the 7900 to a friend of mine, so I'll take a loss of $65. Sorta' like a rental fee...) Hurry, I'm almost out of food for my children and my monthly contribution to starving orphans in Africa!! (Just kidding!!!) Really, this a is a good deal on a nice simple, good looking, reliable vintage tuner. This is a great tuner; The 7900 is the matching tuner for the AU-7900. Also matches the AU-9900/11000 series in appearance. Per www.FMtunerinfo.org "The little brother of the TU-9900", the 7900 is a fine tuner in its own right. The 4-gang TU-7900 has good specs, especially sensitivity, and it's a very quiet and clean sounding, particularly in stereo. Its signal meter doubles as a multipath meter". My unit is clean, a few scratches due to age, etc. Very clean faceplate; glass is perfect, etc. The ONLY issue is the signal meter has not worked for a while. Reason? Don't know. The tune meter is all that I really use and I normally use a Probe-9 antenna with it. I have tested it with a single speaker wire in a "ball" (see photo), and it pulls in the crappy weak NPR station which is about 50 miles away nice and strong. Frequently Asked Questions: Reason For Sale?: Finally obtained a good condition TU-9900, so..... the 7900 is off to a good home, hopefully...... Packing Cost?: $20 (IMPORTANT!!! - packing cost is automatically calculated in the eBay shipping costs; THIS is not "EXTRA". When you use the eBay calculator, it automatically adds it) Proper packing for vintage high value audio equipment is extremely important and must be done absolutely correctly to minimize the chance of damage. This absolutely requires heavy duty boxes of the proper size, and the proper packing materials. NOTE: These boxes, with the packing material easily exceed the manufacturer's original shipping box standards, and thus can be saved and re-used for moving, re-shipping, etc. The dimensions are 24 wide x 16 tall x 18 deep, and the weight of the tuner & the boxing is about 20 pounds; Packing cost is about $20 (new UPS heavy duty, double box; new materials; and heavy duty packing tape - meets UPS standards). Shipping Cost?: USE THE EBAY SHIPPING CALCULATOR FOR UPS GROUND TO YOUR LOCATION!!!  IMPORTANT!!! - The packing cost is automatically calculated in the eBay shipping costs; The "handling" or packing fee is not "EXTRA". When you use the eBay calculator, it automatically adds it to the shipping total). Shipping, unfortunately, is from South Florida (the end of the FEDEX and UPS Earth). I have researched all possible methods and means, and the most reliable, safe, and cost effective method for shipment from this location to anywhere is by UPS ground. Please make sure that you understand the costs involved with shipping from South Florida. You can save money by having the unit shipped to a commercial business address (must be legitimate, or UPS will charge more before releasing the boxes if they arrive at a residence...)
