Description
Scott 310B Tube FM Tuner, 1957, Rare, Clean The 310B is an updated version of the first Scott FM tuner, the 310A. The 310B was the fist 310 to use a round tuning dial and planetary, co-axial (vernier) tuning knobs. This example is very clean with some light oxidation on the copper plated chassis. This oxidation is very common with the 310B and 310C and does not indicate storage in a damp environment. This example was always stored in the living quarters of the home and never exposed to the attic, basement, or garage. Faceplate is very clean with almost no wear and has dark anondized gold finish. The tubes have all been checked on an accurate TV-7 and replaced with fresh vintage stock if needed. Tube sockets and controls have been cleaned. Tuner is in excellent operating condition and sounds fine. You will be very surprised with the sound of this tuner. This model may be the best sounding mono tuner from this era. It is very sensitive and sound is very strong and very clear. Circuit has an MPX out jack on chassis. This model does not show up very often.
