The Tenor Audio W75i is a pair of OTL tube integrated monobloc amplifiers, manufactured by that Montreal-based company. When the Tenor amps were being introduced in the late 90's and early 2000s, they attracted universal praise from the Audio community, and they started showing-up in exhibit rooms with the very best equipment partners available. They also attracted excellent reviews, one of which can be found in the Soundstage Archives from 2002. They were also given top marks in an Inner Ear review, Vol. 15 #1. The 75i features three line level inputs and a passive preamp volume control. A fourth "Direct" input allows you to run the 75i as an amplifier only, and balanced operation if desired. With 6dB of headroom, they are capable of providing three times their rated watts during dynamic peaks! This pair also received all of the available upgrades incuding higher quality fans two years ago at a cost of several thousand dollars, and have higher quality components then the last models that were available. During the upgrade they were converted to pure class A which allows an even better sound and allows them to run cooler. The amps have not been used since the upgrades and have a new set of tubes matched by Tenor including the highly desired 6H6OC tubes . They were set up and tested and then put back into their crates. They are in excellent operational and cosmetic condition! I believe this is one of the best sounding tubed amps ever produced and still being brought up by reviewers today as having a magical presence.
