This is  a Hybrid Transceiver, much favoured by Amateur Radio Enthusiasts. In Working Condition.TS-530S represents the line of Kenwood hybrids that were very popular in 1980's.  The receiver is a single conversion heterodyne, IF is 8.83 MHz. It has RF attenuation switch, selectable filters, RIT, variable level noise blanker, marker, selectable AGC and IF shift. Transmitter has VOX, XIT, speech processor and variable carrier level. Final amplifier uses tubes, a 12BY7A driver and two 6146B's. The transceiver has a conventional VFO, but uses PLL circuit in the local oscillator.  It has WARC bands, but transmitting was disabled in 17 and 12 meter bands. Transmitting was possible after removing two diodes. Optional accessories:  remote VFO (analog VFO-240 or digital VFO-230), antenna tuner (AT-230), external speaker (SP-230), linear amplifier (TL-922), station monitor (SM-220), phone patch (PC-1), narrow IF filters and various head phones and microphones.
