Zenith 835 Tombstone Chrome Grill RADIO - Excellent Start Price USD 4,500.00 Current Price USD 4,500.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price USD 4,750.00 Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, June 29, 2008 End Time Sunday, July 06, 2008 Location Central California See more about 'Zenith 835 Tombstone Chrome Grill RADIO - Excellent' Description Zenith 835 Radio This is one of the best Zenith Model 835 Tube Radios that you will find.  10 tube radio with a 10" speaker.  From our personal collection.  We rebuilt it about 3 years ago.  Canned ohm resistors replaced with dale resistors on aluminum bar to original mounting holes, tuning capacitor removed and run through dish washer with new rubber mounting gromits, power transformer and driver transformer removed and repainted.  All caps replaced.  Filter caps with can type with the input filter cap on oil type.  Cabinet refinished and grill rechromed.  There are some minor scratches on the cabinet.  Radio chassis is very clean, has no rust on it.  Speaker reconed by Orange County Speakers in Garden Grove in Los Angeles.  The dial glass has a scratch on it.  Felt feet have been placed on the bottom of the radio so it will not scratch anything.  Looks great and sounds super.  Sensitivity excellent on all bands.  See pictures below. Someone emailed us and said two of the knobs were wrong. We changed the bottom center knob and the bottom left knob and took a new picture (see picture #2 showing the radio on). Picture #1 has two wrong knobs on it. We believe the knobs are correct now, but we are not entirely sure. Please email us if you would like to see more detailed pictures.  As with all antique radios, selling as is due to age.  Seller will carefully double box for shipping.  Cabinet and radio will be packed separately.  Local pick up is also available.  Due to the weight of the radio, US shipping only.  Buyer to pay $40 for packing material plus exact FedEx or UPS ground shipping, whichever the buyer prefers.  Payment by PayPal or Cashiers check only on this auction.  Shipping costs will be determined after auction ends and radio is double boxed.  It will take 2-3 days to carefully box the radio.  Buyer must respond to email within 3 business days and payment is due within 10 days of end of auction.
